Challenge
Before the implementation of biometrics, the Court's voting process was carried out through traditional methods. Records were manual and identity and document verification were done visually. This practice is prone to errors such as incorrect or inconsistent records and can compromise the accuracy of the results. Furthermore, manual identity verification leaves room for fraud such as document forgery and participation by unauthorized individuals.
Another problem is the slowness of the voting process. The traditional method requires time to verify each voter and count the votes, resulting in delays in the tallying and increased workload for the staff involved.
Results
After the implementation of biometrics, the election held in 2024 lasted only two hours and 15 minutes, while the previous vote took nine hours to be finalized. During the process, BioPass ID performed over 700 biometric verifications without a single failure.
The partnership between TJMG and BioPass ID contributed to the increase in administrative efficiency, reduced costs associated with the traditional process, and guaranteed the integrity of the electoral process, contributing to the delivery of a more efficient justice system.
